An antique Arab North African jezail musket with miquelet lock, c. 1810. The barrel has a "damascus" twist design and a cannon-shaped muzzle. The trigger guard has a long rat-tail end that runs down the curved butt. The wood shows extensive use and has been reinforced with brass bands. The ramrod is iron and appears to be of similar make to the iron mounts and barrel. The mainspring is not working. Overall the length is 64 inches. Traditionally, this is a weapon that would have been used for a number of generations with modifications such as the brass bands asses as it was passed from father to son. The barrel, lock, and frame probably originated in Brescia or one of the other arms-making towns of Italy. For shipping quote, please contact Box Brothers at boxbrosacto@gmail.com.
