- Lot Description
4 US World War I tunics complete with insignia, along with 3 pair of trousers, several with added accoutrements:
Wool tunic to a Private of the 27th Division, with a musette bag, with painted 27th Division insignia, and the owner's serial number and initials, K.E.W., tunic is excellent with Co. "L" Infantry collar, and a beautiful 27th Division patch on the shoulder with red on green private's stripes, and bullion embroidered service chevrons. It has a modern campaign hat with it;
Wool Cavalry tunic, with private's stripes, and an interesting service chevron with cross stitching. There is minor mothing to the chevron. There is a squad leader's whistle hanging from one epaulet. Comes with wool cavalry breeches, and a cotton webbed belt.
Wool tunic originally made as an officer's tunic, but made into a fancier quality enlisted tunic, with higher collar, and cuff braid removed. Coast Artillery brass on the collar, with minor mothing on one side. Trousers are in aa darker green wool, in very good condition;
Wool tunic and breeches, minor mothing on one elbow. Tunic has 2 "US collars," which is incorrect. It has a leather bottomed canvas bag of private purchase slung on it.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $ 88.00 plus 1.5% replacement and insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Condition
As described, all VG or better, some minor mothing, as noted. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
