Framed 1849 schoolgirl sampler by Alice Barnford Birches, age 13. Stitched at top, "When I was youg & little thought that learning was so dearly bought." Embellished with two figures, a house, trees and birds. Dimensions: (sight) 15.75"h x 16.25"w; (framed) 19.25"h x 19.75"w. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $50.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Linen is toned, stained and frayed at edges. Stitches appear intact. Did not examine out of frame.
