This fabulous one of a kind desk table clock is an epitome of the French art deco design. Has been exceptionally designed in Paris by the luxury house of Cartier back in the 1930. This rare clock has been crafted with geometric and triangular shapes in solid .935/.999 sterling silver and is mount in a rectangular green marble base. Embellished at each sides, with panels decorated with applications of blue and white French lacquer, showing an artistic arrangement of several numbers eights. Dial: Rectangular in white lacquer, with black Arabic numerals and blackened steel hands. Inscribed, Cartier Paris, Swiss. Movement: Swiss Made, Jaeger-LeCoultre Mechanical winding, 15 jewels, 8 Days, Caliber 10-8. Weight: 4 Pounds, (1.81 Kg). Measurements: 501.65 mm by 142.2 mm by 70 mm (19.75 x 5.6 x 2.76 Inches). Hallmarks: The silver body is stamped with French marks for export, the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver, the reference numbers and signed, "CARTIER PARIS STERLING". Provenance: Cartier Paris. Retailed in Cartier New York. A private collection in California, Acquired in 2021. Literature: Christies, 7 Jun 2017, Lot 48. For a similar one offered in the sale.
Condition
The condition of this clock is exceptional, with no trace of wear. There is no damage to the silver and all parts are secured in their settings. This Cartier piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
