- Lot Description
Italian Baroque walnut and fruitwood ornately carved mirror and console. Mirror 17th century, later 19th century console with 17th century elements. Console was originally topped with marble which is no longer present. Scratches, nicks, scuffs, abrasions and restorations throughout wood of both console and mirror. Later mirror plate. Losses and portions of carvings missing from both mirror and console. Carvings are incredibly delicate. Mirror: 48" W x 10 1/2" D x 61 1/4" H. Console: 46 3/4" W x 11 1/4" D x 34 1/2" H. Provenance: Sotheby's European Decorative Arts, Lot 308, October 18th, 2016. From the collection of a prominent Connecticut family.
