- Lot Description
Sublime Harmonie Swiss interchangeable cylinder music box, (3) 13" cylinders each with 8 tunes, with original tune card, though in water stained and faded condition, the rosewood veneered and floral inlaid lid with considerable water damage. The rest of the case with rosewood grained and ebonized finish in restorable condition. Ends with cast bronze carrying handles. The machine plays very nicely and none of the movement parts or cylinders show any obvious signs of water damage. Case 32" l, 12 1/2" high.
Condition
Machine runs somewhaT reluctantly, has a nice sound, but the movement needs cleaning and adjustment by a competent music box mechanic. All teeth intact, dampers show no sign of "fuzz". The lid needs to be totally restored with respect to rosewood veneer and inlay, it does show a little cupping front to back. The rest of the case's finish could be restored by a good finisher. The pins in all three cylinders appear intact and do not show wear.
