American Federal cherry tall case clock by Jacob Craft, (1765-1825), Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Craft emigrated to US from Germany in 1790. 8 day brass movement, time and bell strike, overall height including finials 102" h, 19-1/2" w, 11" d, With pendulum, 2 weights, & crank; feet original; dial has even wear throughout, signature appears to be original; finials are cherry and have considerable age, but may not be original. The central plinth probably had a platform on which the center final would have rested, side finials may have as well. nice clean clock; consigned from an estate near Reading, PA, family has no prior knowledge of provenance.
