Egon Ferdinand Grabner was an Austrian painter and draftsman. He worked from 1936 - 1939 as a freelance artist, from 1938 he lived mainly in Trieste. From 1940 to 1945 he was as a painter war correspondent (portfolio of etchings of the Russian campaign). After the war until 1956 he taught at the state art school in Tehran, receiving commissions from Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Afterwards he worked as a freelance artist until his death in Vienna. His numerous solo and collective exhibitions at the Secession, Galerie Wuerthle, Galerie am Salzgries, Galerie Eiserne Schmiede and other galleries in Graz, Linz and Trieste. Public commissions from the municipality of Vienna for the decoration of schools, official buildings and hospitals; mosaic in the Schuettaustraße. He also received large private commissions (Kreditschutzverband, Rohner Gehrig Vienna, in Switzerland and for oil paintings of the construction sites of the Westautobahn, ARGE Autobahnbau). 1961 Prize of the Vienna Art Fund and title of "Professor". 1978 artist pension of the Ministry of Education and the Arts. Works in the following collections, among others: Ministry of Education and the Arts, Central Savings Bank of the Municipality of Vienna, DDSG, VOEST, Schoeller Bleckmann, IBM.
