Texas artist Alice M. Chilton was a personal friend and companion of artist Robert Wood and painted with him from 1928 to 1933. Wood's work had a great influence over Chilton's artistic style. Chilton spent most of her life in San Antonio, and participated in several local exhibitions including the Artists Annual Exhibition in 1930 and the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in 1952 and 1958. She won a prize for her artwork in 1937 at the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs in Austin, Texas. She was a member of the Coppini Academy.
