• Lot Description

  An unusual Moroccan-origin Flintlock Rifle, featuring highly detailed carving and extensive mother-of-pearl inlay. The wooden stock is carved in the form of a mythical animal head with teeth, a distinctive artistic feature reflecting North African craftsmanship and symbolism.

  This 37-inch rifle is very heavy and well constructed, and showcases the elaborate decorative styles used in ceremonial or status firearms of the region. Such pieces were often owned by high-ranking individuals or tribal leaders, making this a remarkable find for those interested in Islamic and North African arms.
