- Lot Description
A WW2 German Senior Officer Car Pennant Flag, originally acquired by an esteemed Texas collector, who obtained it from the Driver to Reinhard Heydrich (and other Third Reich High Level Officers). This pennant is reportedly from Reinhard Heydrich’s personal staff car, making this a one-of-a-kind piece of Third Reich history.
The flag holder definitely shows shrapnel damage and patina consistent with age, but to us it does not match the pictures extant of Heydrich’s car post-bombing. Therefore, the provenance is somewhat dubious. Still, it is an authentic car pennant from a high-level officer of the Third Reich, and were it to be the actual pennant from his car it would be worth far more than it will fetch in this auction. This is one of the most fascinating items we are offering in this auction, as it could be a goldmine for the winner or just a very important collectible of Third Reich history.
