A German WW2 Police Bayonet with original sheath, featuring a unique and highly personal inscription – the SSN of the American veteran who brought it back ("525-60-XXXX"). You can't get more personal than that! This exceptional provenance makes this bayonet a one-of-a-kind wartime relic. The blade remains in excellent condition, and the grip is fully intact, showing only light signs of wear from use, age, and transport back to the United States.
During WW2, the German police force used specialized bayonets, often issued to municipal and rural officers for ceremonial and combat-related duties. The fact that this bayonet was identified and retained by a U.S. veteran adds impeccable historical significance, making it a grail for collectors of WW2 militaria.
