- Lot Description
A German WW2 Heer Major of the Artillery Officer’s Peaked Visor, manufactured by the elite wartime cap maker, Paul Kaps Neisse. Its all-bullion insignia, excellent condition, and specific designation for a Major of the Artillery—a rank and branch requiring specialized insignia—enhances this piece's uniqueness, as few such examples survived the war intact.
The cap features a field-grey wool body, a black velvet band, and white piping, denoting artillery branch affiliation. The front displays a 90% intact bullion eagle and cockade, with a silver chin cord and pebbled silver buttons affixed to each side.
Inside, the rich grey interior lining and sweat shield are intact, with a grey leather sweatband showing some signs of wear. The cap has one minor moth nip on the top left side but remains in excellent condition.
