- Lot Description
A WWII German Red Cross (DRK) Female Assistant Badge, issued to women who served as volunteer nurses and medical helpers in the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (German Red Cross).
The obverse of this badge features a white enamel medallion with a red cross at the center, encircled by a black border inscribed "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Helferin" in a classic Blackletter typeface. The word "Helferin" signifies that this badge was awarded to female Red Cross assistants who played a crucial role in wartime medical efforts.
The reverse bears the GES GESCH (Gesetzlich Geschützt) mark, indicating an early war issue. It has a horizontal pin back that remains fully intact and functional. The original plating has been well preserved with only minor wear, and the enamel shows some pitting, making this a commendable condition for such a rare piece of wartime memorabilia.
