- Lot Description
A German WW2 Army Panzer EM/NCO Officer Visor Cap, this example retains the grey-green doeskin wool construction with the distinctive pink wool piping denoting Panzer tank troops. It features the dark green woolen band for the Army/Heer, a silver bullion chin cord, and an impeccably detailed silver-colored insignia. A fascinating WWI-era paper document was discovered, and remains, folded beneath the sweatband, adding an additional layer of intrigue to this Panzer unit visor!
The rayon-lined interior houses a fully intact sweat shield, marked “Deutsche Wert Arbeit”, a phrase translating to “German Quality Work”. The black Vulkanfiber visor has the cream-colored underside and displays noticeable sweat stains inside and on the shield, along with light wear on the visor and sweatband, which are indicative of extensive wartime use.
This Visors' compelling combination of detailed craftsmanship, unit-specific markings, and a unique historical find, embodies the significance of the sought after Panzer elite memorabilia.
