- Lot Description
This WW2 Croatian Army Officer's Dagger was manufactured by Braca Knaus of Zagreb, as marked on the blade. The dagger features a nickel-plated blade, numbered 1048, and silver-plated bronze fittings that add to its design. The crossguard is very loose and could use some restoration for a proper fit, the pommel is slightly loose as well. The white synthetic grip has a chunk missing, reflecting its use in service and age, while the straight steel scabbard shows minor wear but retains its original shape and functionality. A damaged but serviceable example.
Braca Knaus was a prestigious Croatian arms manufacturer, and their edged weapons were primarily issued to Ustaše officers and Croatian military personnel. This dagger can be hard to find in auctions and is ideal for enthusiasts of WWII Eastern Front militaria, Axis-affiliated forces, or historical war time blades.
