Very Nice Album of Photos assembled by an unidentified soldier who appears to have been part of the 47th Engineers Construction Battalion, on Okinawa from April 1945 to Nov 1946. Contains (189) original photos, many with notations; (76) official photos & (15) commercial real photo postcards. Depicted are ruins of Naha (the Capital), battle aftermath, casualties, surrender, ruins, POW stockade, camp scenes, local beauties, Naha Air Depot, OBASCOM Headquarters, 9th Station Hospital, 109th QM Bakery (and bakery fire), 96th Infantry Cemetery, and the return home to San Francisco aboard the USAT Gen Aultman. 10 1/2" x 13 1/2". Fine condition, the photos are not glued in, set into corner mounts.
