- Lot Description
19th c. Copy of "Adoration of the Magi" after the original tempera on wood by Gentile da Fabriano (ca. 1380-1427), created in 1423; now displayed in the Uffizi, Florence. The repousse silver panels having polychrome enamel coloring, housed in an ornate Renaissance style gilt entablature that is also a copy of the original, having small silver roundels in the three upper arches, three smaller panels below, small repeating panels in the columns. 29 1/2" x 20 1/2" overall. Some losses to enamel, moldings. Comes as issued, in an Italian gilt leather velvet fitted case with large brass latches, integral easel (broken), extensive wear to the exterior of the case, interior is very good. 31" x 28 1/2" x 4" overall.
