Pension Act for Continental Army Massachusetts Fifth Regiment (Rufus Putnam's) Ensign Jacob Stewart, partly printed, reading: "Twenty-Third Congress of the United States, at the Second Session, Begun and held at the City of Washington in the District of Columbia, on Monday the first day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty four. An Act for the relief of Jacob Stewart. Be enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. (remainder handwritten) That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby authorized and required to place the name of Jacob Stewart on the list of invalid pensioners, and pay him at the rate of five dollars per month, to commence on the first day of January one thousand, eight hundred and thirty five. (Unsigned): Speaker of the House of Representatives; Vice President of the United States, President of the Senate; Clerk, House of Representatives.
