- Lot Description
"Shapes in the Sky During Rainy Season", mixed media on denim, titled and signed lower right, dated 1974. The artist, born Prince Taiwo Olaniyi Oyewale-Toyeje Oyelale Osuntoki, became one of the best known artists of the Osogbo School. This piece, derived from Yoruba mythological figures, was done while he was artist in residence at Haystack Mountain Crafts School, Deer Isle, as a gift to the consignor. In metal box frame, under plexi. OS: 37 1/4" x 35 3/4", SS: 35" x 34". Good condition.
