- Lot Description
Tray, Damascus, in the Mamluk Style, aka 'Reesh' work, chased brass inlaid with silver and copper adorned with bold Arabic Thuluth calligraphy, foliate interlaced geometric patterns and arabesques. These trays were often part of a dowry. 18" diam. Very good condition. Acquired by the consignor's father while working on newsreels in the Middle East in the 1930s.
