- Lot Description
Early 19th c. Salem or Newburyport, MA Secretary in mahogany with string inlay and cross banded borders, having a flat molded cove cornice, diamond mullion glass doors above three shallow drawers (the center with oval patera), two solid doors with lock concealing letter compartments, shallow fold-out writing surface having gold tooled leather and ribbed edge, the lower cabinet containing four graduated pulls with pressed bass knobs, raised on refined shaped bracket base with swept foot. 32" to writing surface, 73" overall height, 40" x 21". Very good condition, a few tiny veneer chips.
