Circa 1810 Boston Four-Drawer Bow Front Chest, made by or attributed to the John & Thomas Seymour workshop, with slightly overhanging top, bowed front and bullnose applied edge over a conforming case with four graduated cockbeaded edge drawers, each with crossbanding and a well figured satinwood panel, first period oval brass drawer pulls depicting recumbent lions; drawers are flanked by porringer corners with turned and reeded columns that are topped with watercress carvings with reeded and turned sections below; nicely shaped apron and set on fluted turned and tapered legs, 44 1/4" high, 45" x 22 3/4".
