- Lot Description
From Shahnama (Book of Kings): Two Warriors in Combat, gouache and gilding on vellum, the image offset from center on page with overall gold line foliate decoration. The two men in armor are rolling on the ground at river's edge, men from their two armies paired off, standing with horses, in gold molded frame, matted and glazed, OS: 20 1/2" x 15 1/4", SS: 13 3/4" x 9 1/4". Bends and soiling to surround, painting has a few chafed areas at top.
