Unusual Form Oval Ovoid Bottle, in scarce Lacquer on Porcelain finish, with small flared neck, and oval ring foot, having many layers of black and cinnabar in Tsugaru Karanuri technique, creating a burst bubble effect. The use of lacquer on porcelain is not unknown and dates at least to Momoyama period (late 16th c.), but has never been ordinary. This is of indeterminate age. 5 3/4" x 5 1/4" x 4". Fine condition.
