- Lot Description
Late 18th - Early 19th c. Portsmouth, NH Federal Fire Society Leather Fire Bucket, painted with member name 'G.P. Thompson', 'No. 2', a central cartouche of flames, and the society's founding date of 1789, 13 3/4" high, 7 3/4" diam. Paint losses, overpainted (possibly in 1910, when George Thompson purportedly became a member of the Society).
