19th c. French Leather Covered Papetier, by Cabasson, Paris, with gilded bronze mounts and inset floral printed on porcelain lid decoration, ornate figural lid lift/lock escutcheon (with key), gilded bronze scrolled side handles, bird form lid corner mounts, and architectural design feet, "Cabasson, Papetier ordinaire du Roi, Rue de la Chauss?e d'Antin No 15/ a Paris" engraved on interior front rim, blue velvet lined lid, cushioned green satin lined interior, 9 1/2" high, 29" x 17". Exterior surface wear, minor gilding losses, minor interior top edge fabric fraying/losses.
