- Lot Description
"Lockport on the Erie Canal", watercolor on paper, titled in lower margin, circa 1835, after the Catlin/Imbert litho of 1830. In modern burled mahogany frame, under glass. OS: 20" x 23- 1/2", SS: 14- 3/4" x 17- 3/4", soiling, professionally repaired losses above trees and along top edge. A similar painting appeared as fig. 140 in "American Folk Painting" by Black-Lipman.
