"2 Washing Pallettes" (sic), graphite and watercolor on paper, titled, signed and dated Dec 1963 at top, also on label verso from Barbara Mathes Galley, 19 East 71 Street, NYC. In silver box frame, linen mat, glazed, OS: 28" x 36", SS: 21 1/2" x 29 1/4". Lightly toned and rippled. Includes a letter of provenance from Mathes that this piece was acquired directly from the artist by Sonnebend Gallery, New York, than became part of the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Selle. Mrs. Selle was a Trustee of MoMA. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor in 1980.
