- Lot Description
Edo Period Black Lacquered Box with two-toned gold decoration of garden scenes with scholars and students, side lift handles, opens to reveal shallow wine velvet flat writing surface, which in turn opens out to create a slanted crimson velvet writing surface with ink botttle pockets and pen tray above, concealed within are compartments and drawers, (concealment panel needs repair), 7 3/4" x 18" x 10 1/2". Losses and crazing to lacquer, one large chip missing from top image.
