- Lot Description
Magnificent and Highest Quality Large Vase in ovoid form with high shoulder and small opening having rolled white rim, with complicated gold satsuma vine marks on underside and lengthy two part inscription in red oxide. The body has a crackle eggshell ground, delicately decorated in gold moriage, blue, green and red, having geometric bands top and bottom featuring medallions of phoenix and foo lions, alternating with various sized Tao buttons. The general field is a floral landscape with some solid gold blossoms and two gold butterflies. 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" diam. Good condition, with two gold filled hairlines from the foot, appearing to be part of the original firing and decoration.
