Finely Detailed Cased Half Hull of the SS 'Andria', designed by G.L. Watson, built by AILSA Ship Building Company, Troon; Engineered by D. Rowan & Son, Glasgow, 1897. In a custom mahogany case, 16" x 57" x 5 1/2" deep. Fine condition. (One lifeboat is off davits, but unharmed). Mr J. E. Brooks of New York commissioned the English built steam yacht 'Andria'. Launched 18 Feb 1897. Builder: Ailsa Shipbuilding Company of Ayrshire. Designer: George L. Watson. Steel hulled, clipper stemmed. Referred to at the time as a "Steak Yacht", a British dig at the American owners.
