(9) 16th c. Woodcuts from "The Triumphal Procession of Emperor Maximilian I", originally printed between 1516-1518 on Commission from the Court, these are from the rare 1799 first printing, all on heavy wove paper, roughly 16 1/4" x 21 1/4" sheets, including: pl 3 "Fifers and Standard of Anthony of Dornstadt; pl 32 Five Knights for Challenge (HB anchor); pl 52 Five Knight for Joust, (HB on halter); pl 65 Standard Bearers; pl 66 Papal and Saint Standards; pl 70 Royal Standard Bearers; pl 71 Queen's Standard Bearers; pl 74 Queen's Court Standards; pl 82 Standard Bearers. Generally fair condition, toning, bends, wrinkles, some stains, foxing along bottom edge of most, binding marks on left edge. Matted, unframed. Remarkable examples of a seminal work.
