Allegorical Scene of Poor Fishing Families living in beached tented boats, while a white city on the hill is visible through a rocky grotto on the left, signed lower center right and dated 1883, name tag on frame, housed in the original Italian gilt deep cove gesso frame, OS: 40 1/2" x 51", SS: 31" x 41 1/2". Relined, cleaned and retouched, loss to frame.
