English Sterling Silver Cake Basket by Samuel Hennell, hallmarked for London, 1811, with engraved crest containing three lions passant and three fleurs-de-lis below a stag head, with motto 'Nil Desperandum' (never despairing), basket with shaped and chased swing handle, gadrooned edge with shell and floral motifs, footed base, 9 1/2" high, 13" x 10 3/8", 30.88 ozt. Good condition.
