Bamileke, Buffalo Mask, Cameroon, worn on top of the head by young men in coming of age dances, a sign of power, in carved wood with painted detail, displayed on a museum stand. Roughly 17" x 10" mask. Very good condition. Provenance: From collection of Ben Matros, one of the leading experts of African art in 1960s - 1970s.
