- Lot Description
Civil War Era Mahogany Figural Inlaid Traveling Letter Box, the overhanging lid featuring the word "Liberty", with eagle and shield, artillery insignia, US flag on pole and stacked cannon balls, the front showing a design, two circles connected by a bar, often associated with slave shackles. The sides having geometric designs, the interior with lift-out fitted tray, 6" high, 14- 1/4" x 11- 1/4". Some repairs, ink stains on top.
