- Lot Description
Mid-19th c. Chinese Silk Robe or Valuables Box, black lacquer surface with original hand painted front panel depicting Mandarins in a court scene, with front brass locking mechanism, resting on an early 20th c. Chinese influenced lacquerware base, box: 16 1/2" high, 55 1/2" x 17 1/4", overall: 32" high, 56 1/2" x 18 1/4". A few lacquer chips, shrinkage cracks. Provenance: From a Dedham, MA collector's home.
