- Lot Description
Portrait of Josephine Flagg Boyer, oil on canvas, unsigned, circa 1910, depicting the beautiful young woman, life-sized, seated on a bench in a black low cut dress with a gold necklace, her gaze fixed directly on the viewer. In the original hand carved gold Impressionist style frame, OS: 57 1/2" x 43 1/2", SS: 47 1/2" x 33 1/2". Fine, untouched condition. Josephine (1887-1972), daughter of Washington Allston Flagg and Donna Davis Robins, married early Aviator and NYC Banker Philip Boyer (1885-1950) in Nov 1907. They lived in Manhasset, Nassau County.
