Reverse Cut Paper Silhouettes, ca. 1830, in various sizes and frames, including: 'Madame de Tournay' aka Madame de La Fayette (1634-1693), author of La Princesse de Clèves, France's first historical novel and one of the earliest novels in literature, in rosewood frame with brass oval liner, OS: 65" x 5 1/4", SS: 2 3/4" x 2 1/8"; Young Man with cravat, ruffled shirt and contrasting waistcoat collar, pencil detail, in mitered pine frame, under glass, 5 1/2" x 4 3/4", SS: 4" x 3"; PLUS Young Girl in the French style, ink detailed hair dressing, in gilt liner under glass, OS: 4 3/8" x 3 1/4", SS: 3 3/8" x 2 1/8". Generally good condition.
