Qing Dynasty Canton Export Books of Pith Paintings, with artist's label "Youqua, Old St. No. 34" and owner inscribed "Wm. F. Homer", retaining the original silk brocade covers, bound in European format, each containing twelve images: Full-Length Standing Portraits of Members of the Imperial Court, men and women, displaying ornate robes with badges of rank; PLUS the other containing twelve gruesome images of Torture and Punishment of Criminals, also of men and women, remarkable, 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" books. Edge wear and loss, fractures and losses to some images, scattered staining.
