- Lot Description
Early 19th c. Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy, with contrasting shell grain to side panels, with silver escutcheon (no key) and top cartouche, silver plated ball feet, velvet lining inside top lid, with two inner compartments with tortoiseshell veneered lids and mother-of-pearl handles, traces of foil lining, 5" high, 6 5/8" x 3 3/4". Cracks to tortoiseshell surface on sides and back, losses near back base, shrinkage crack in base board.
