- Lot Description
Meiji Oval Covered Box, well carved, featuring three dormice galavanting through a crowded garden of fruit and vegetables, one momentarily distracted by a butterfly; the lid, which fits only one way, has a buddha's hand citron and floral knop, the inside of the lid with scraffito fruit, and a red seal; the body has a gilt metal liner, roughly 3 3/4" x 4" x 3 1/4". Old repair to shrinkage crack on lid.
