21cm x 18cm. 4, 6, 6, 3, 6, 4, 4, 4, 14, 12, 10, 6, 18, 2, 2, 4, 4, 4, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 2, 2, 2, 3, 6, 6, 4, 4, 6, 2 pages, 49 plates (44 sepia-toned stipple engravings, 5 engraved views). Rebacked full leather, gilt lettering, marbled endpapers.Includes poems by Alexander Pope, Samuel Johnson and John Gay. Taylor issued a total of 22 parts with 90 engravings. The verso of the contents list (which is not present here) states that "Gentlemen may bind any numbers together to make a volume, and in any order they please." This copy with the bookplate of Ambrose Lyon Poynter.
Rebacked. Rubbing to leather. Board slightly bowed. Hinges reinforced. Minor foxing and offsetting. Previous owner's signature dated 1837. Very Good Condition.
