London: Thomas Davison, John Hunt and John and H. L. Hunt, 1822-1824.
First Small Paper Edition.
16.5cm x 10cm. [iv], 227, [iv], 222, x, 184, [2 advertisements], 151, 170, 130 pages, 6 volumes bound in 3. Full brown leather, gilt lettering, gilt rules, blind decorative rules and corner pieces on boards, gilt dentelle, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers.6 very early editions bound in 3 volumes comprising early printings of the first 2 volumes and the rest being first printings of the small paper edition.
Cantos I-II: Thomas Davison, 1823 (first published 1819)
Cantos III, IV, V: Thomas Davison, 1822 (stated Fifth Edition, Revised and Corrected)
Cantos VI, VII, VIII: John Hunt, 1823 (with two pages of advertisements dated July 1823 at the end of Canto VIII);Cantos IX, X, XI: John Hunt, 1823

Moderate shelf wear and rubbing to leather. Very minor to minor splitting to joints, excepting lower joint of volume 1 at crown being a 3.5cm split from a vertical indent to the lower board, though still intact. Water stain to final few leaves of Volume 1 and minor to its edges, otherwise only occasional soiling and foxing. Good Condition.
