27cm x 19cm. viii, 312, [4], viii, 320, [4], viii, 312, [4], viii, 312, [4] pages, 4 volumes in 2, 39 of 40 chromolithographic plates, ca. 400 engravings in the text. Contemporary green half leather, gilt lettering and decoration, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers.Minimal rubbing to binding. Staining to tail fore-edge corner of a few of the plates in volume 1, worst is to frontispiece of volume 2. Minor foxing and offsetting. The colour plates bound not in numerical order and lacking plate 31. Good Condition.
