• Lot Description

  Virginia Woolf

  The Years

  London: The Hogarth Press, 1937.
  First Edition, Colonial Cloth.
  19cm x 12cm. [iv], 469 pages. Green cloth, gilt lettering, illustrated jacket.

  First edition of the final novel published in her lifetime, in the jacket designed by her sister, Vanessa Bell. All points as per KIRKPATRICK 22a, but in Colonial Cloth and with Colonial Cloth Edition stamp to the jacket. Of the 23,142 first edition copies printed some 3,100 were sold to the colonies.

  Minor tanning and wear to cloth. Foxing to edges and endpapers. Previous owner's name and bookseller's label to rear pastedown. Foxed jacket, chipped and torn, lower joint almost completely split, some tape repair. Good Condition in Fair Jacket.
