32.5cm x 25cm. 712, 596, xliv, 775, 52 pages, 24, 19, 24 plates, black and white illustrations in the text (many full page), 4 volumes in 3. Half leather, gilt lettering.The Plays of William Shakepeare in 3 volumes with 57 plates and hundreds of illustrations in the text, many of which are full page illustrated by H. C. Selous. Edited by Charles and Mary Cowden Clarke. The volumes are divided into Shakespeare Comedies, Historical Plays, and Tragedies. At the rear of the Tragedies volume are Sonnets and Poems.
Some rubbing to leather. 3cm split to upper joint at crown of volume 3. Endpapers tanned. Minor to moderate foxing and tanning to interior. Minor offsetting of plates. Good Condition
