First Edition.
24cm x 16cm. 268 pages, 20 original photographs after drawings by the author. Cloth, gilt lettering, all edges gilt. Text is in French.Rare-photo illustrated book by Swiss emigrant settler Marcet being a fictional work set in Queensland. The work describes the harsh conditions and difficulties of bush life with a focus on the tension between white settlers and the local Aboriginal population. Printed in an edition of 200 copies. FERGUSON 12251.
Spine glued down, joint cracked and extremely tender. Minor tanning and foxing. Good Condition.
