Memoir of an English visitor, Matthew Henry Marsh (1810-1881), to Queensland in the 1860s. Includes chapters on the squatting system, Aborigines, Australian horses, Ipswich, and Brisbane. The frontispiece map of the world showing the route to Australia, a map of Ceylon, and a folding map illustrating Marsh's route from Sydney to Queensland. This being a presentation copy "Miss E. Pleydel Bonomi from your old friend, The Author.", and with the bookplate of Harry Austin Brentall.
